Determined to bring strong black female characters to the shelves of comic book shops across the country, artist Rashida Lewis created the comic Sand Storm, a tale of a swift African heroine. The comic was joyously recieved at stores in several major American cities and has been welcomed in Kaduna, Nigeria as well. With the creator’s dream of bringing Sand Storm to print now realized, Lewis currently has plans to take her characters past the realm of comics and into the world of animation.
